Sadler’s Wells welcomes back classical ballet dancer Natalia Osipova to instead explore the contemporary world of her artform with the help of no less than three choreographers: Sidi Larbi Chekaoui and Russell Maliphant and Arthur Pita. She will be joined by her partner prodigy Sergei Polunin, the youngest principal dancer at the Royal Ballet, who shocked the dance world by spectacularly resigning from the company.
Drawing inspiration from 1960s girl-group music and the tragic life of Amy Winehouse, each choreography is very different; some narrative, some very abstract. It is the story of a modern love affair with the unusual addition of some thrilling comic duets
Osipova started formal ballet training at the Bolshoi before joining the American Ballet Theatre as a guest dancer and later the Mikhailovsky Ballet. She joined the Royal Ballet as a principal in 2013 after her guest appearance in Sawn Lake.
