Another Brighton Digital Festival exclusive reaches the stage this week with the live cinema performance project Supereverything. A British Council performing arts commission filmed on location across the Malaysian peninsula, the collaboration sees leading audio-visual artists The Light Surgeons collaborate with a group of Malaysian artists and string players from the Heritage Orchestra.

Exploring the relationship between identity, ritual and place, Supereverything weaves together documentary narratives into a poetic audio-visual tapestry, forming a kaleidoscopic portrait of the culturally diverse landscape of Malaysia. Justaposing tradition and modernity, the project seeks to discover how our complex sense of identity is formed through rituals.

Exploded across multiple projections and different media, the live cinema performance layers together stunning documentary footage and motion graphics with a original, live electronic musical score to transport its audiences on a journey through its universal narratives.

Supereverything takes place at The Old Market on Saturday 24th September at 7.30pm. Tickets are £14 – for more information or to book, click here.
