Lana Del Rey debuted new track West Coast for the first time at a live show in Las Vegas on Friday night (11th April). The mysterious pop singer who has named new album Ultraviolence after a reference in Anthony Burgess’s novel A Clockwork Orange gave fans at The Chelsea an acapella performance of the song, which will the first single to be taken from the hotly anticipated second album.
After debating with her band for sometime at the gig whether to play West Coast the Video Games star finally gave in and told the baying crowd “I’ll just sing you a little bit of the verse without the band”, oh stop teasing us Lana.
Festival goers at Coachella in the US will no doubt get to hear some more from Ultraviolence when she takes to the stage on Sunday and West Coast will premiere on UK radio on Monday (14th April) on Fearne Cotton’s morning show from 10am….go on set your alarms!…actually on second thoughts don’t worry as we’re sure this will be getting a huge amount of airplay over the coming weeks.
Ms Del Rey certainly knows how to keep the hype machine rolling and rolling and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for her Glastonbury performance.
