The Brighton Dome’s SPECTRUM events are getting all the more frequent as we move into summer, with the venue welcoming folk-fusion talent Kristin McClement this Thursday. She’ll be supported by Brighton musician Karl Bray’s side project, The Boy Who Kicked Pigs (apparently a nod to the novel’s author Tom Baker, who once flung Karl a 50 pence piece while busking in their home town in Kent).

Expect haunting lyrics and harmonies from both of this month’s featured artists, and an extra twist of electronica from Kristin McClement, who’ll be sharing material from her debut album The Wild Grips; where she draws as much influence from artists like Portishead and PJ Harvey as the rawer folk sound of Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen.

“Inventive, weighty pop music which dazzles, shimmers and glows exquisitely in the cold light of the day” Gold Flake Paint on Kristin McClement

Kristin McClement headlines the Brighton Dome’s SPECTRUM showcase on Thursday 7th July at 8pm, with support from The Boy Who Kicked Pigs. Tickets are £5 – for more information or to book, click here.
