It was an impressive summer for ByDay ByNight, which saw some memorable sets from the likes of FKJ, KANT, The House of Disco and Tito Wun across the terraces in Brixton. But thou shalt not let this low temperature weary us. Doctor Dru is in town and leading the party at The Prince of Wales in Brixton to keep our spirits high and not let the winter blues hit us.
The party will kick off on the covered and “warm” terrace (no, it is, trust us). Featuring outdoor heaters and a winter cocktail bar, there are also 3 areas of music over 3 floors until 4am.
Doctor Dru is one of the key champions of the contemporary deep house movement sweeping across Europe and the rest of the world in recent years — and part credit for his amazing present output goes to the fact that his mum’s pots and pans got a beating with his drumsticks when he was very young.
There’s not such a juvenile approach to his productions nowadays though: Dru’s flying over from Germany to stir up a dancefloor frenzy in the main room with his latest playlist for Beatport. Support will come from a fine selection of London based tastemakers such as: Loveglove, Nixwax Takeover, Rob Amboule, Alec Falconer, Ralph Giles, Ollie White, Rowlando, Hold On and Byday Bynight DJs.
Climb the stairs to the Prince of Wales two-tier outdoor roof terraces where you can knock back a few gallons of mulled wine to keep rolling late into the night and check out the biggest names in clubland DJing on the loud Funktion 1 sound system.
Nothing will christen the season better — Netflix can wait till Sunday evening.
