Opening today on Tooley Street, Carve is a totally original concept that aims to replace the soggy, sorry lunchtime sarnie with an altogether more inspiring option. Throughout the day the joint will dish up “Carvepots” – tasty, carved-to-order bowls packed with meats, grains, veggies, relish and roots.
Founder, Daniel Bear, previously of Euphorium Bakery, wants to change the way workers view lunchtimes, bringing the traditional British concept of the carvery into the modern day. Gone are the dried out slabs of meat that have been collecting dust for hours, Carve’s selection of proteins will be cooked and carved fresh every day.
Mouth-watering Carve combos include Landroc free range roasted pork belly with pear and apple mustard fruits and mac ‘n’ cheese; and salmon gravadlax with leeks, fennel, radish, chopped egg, dill and mustard. And there’s even morning options. Next time you’re looking for a protein-packed breakie how about tucking into Cumberland sausage meatloaf with ground Landroc pork, nutmeg, sage and dry cured bacon with Seville orange marmalade glaze?
Carvepots range from £4.95 – £6.95. Catering to the ever-accelerating pace of London life, the London Bridge spot utilises a unique tap, grab-and-go ordering system. One price, one-screen – from pot selection to payment, every order is completed in a matter of seconds.
