Are you an art-lover? Food-lover? Both? Either way, you’re likely to have a fabulous weekend planned should you be heading to Art16. Not only does Art16 bring together 100 galleries from over 30 countries, but to curb your appetite, award-winning restaurateurs Corbin & King will be setting up shop, with a revolving pop-up restaurant.

This is a highly anticipated new addition to the mix, as Corbin & King are responsible for some of London’s most revered and popular restaurants. Their residency at Art16 will feature three of their most celebrated restaurants — The Colony Grill, The Wolseley, and The Delaunay — with a different one each day (the menus are so delicious it might define what day you attend the fair…).

The Colony Grill will kick things off on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th with a trans-Atlantic menu. Dishes include Sea Trout with Samphire, Jersey Royals and Beurre Blanc, Minted Pea and Bavarian Blue Risotto, and Amontillado Sherry Trifle (should you be inclined to indulge in some pud).

On Saturday 21st, The Wolseley chefs will take to the kitchen with some British classics, such as Chopped Liver with Pickled Cucumber, Smoked Haddock Monte Carlo and The Wolseley Fruit Crumble.

The final day of Art16 will have the artsy folk fed by The Delaunay who will present a mittel-European inspired menu: Traditional Pierogies with Paprika Butter, Guinea Fowl Paprikash and Cherry Scheiterhaufen will be order of the day.

If you’ve missed your lunchtime slot due to some serious art browsing, not to fret, as there’s also an afternoon tea on offer. The smell of freshly baked Fruit Scones with Strawberry Jam come courtesy of The Wolseley, and a traditional Poppy Seed Gugelhupf with Apricot Jam served by The Delaunay, both served with a choice of teas including Afternoon Blend, English Breakfast, Assam, Ceylon, and Fresh Mint.

It’s a fine way to fuse together the idea of refined cuisine with Art16 as it unites art-lovers, collectors and artists from all around the globe.

And as independent art consultant Elmerice Habsburg-Lothringen advises, regarding some tips for buying art: “Don’t forget to have FUN – collecting is something beautiful and addictive”.

So is food, right?
