Beer lovers rejoice! On Thursday August 11th, vino is stepping aside and letting its hopped-up compadre take centre stage next to the almighty cheese. In celebration of London Beer City, CRATE brewery is holding a one-off exclusive tasting, presented by beer sommelier and maître fromager Tom Williams.
Guests will be able to enjoy four specially selected CRATE beers each expertly paired with cheese from La Fromagerie. Expect delectable pairings such as a slowly matured Stichelton, or a nutty Keens Cheddar to be matched with CRATE’s very own Black IPA or Watermelon Wheat. With the exponential growth in popularity of craft beer, it seems only fitting to let the duo shine in harmony.
Tom Williams is no newbie to the cheese scene, having built his expertise working with Neal’s Yard Dairy and Mason & Taylor for many years. Tom will talk guests through each pairing whilst sharing his extensive knowledge on the ins and outs of beer and cheese making. (Who doesn’t want his life?).
The splendid evening will be held at Fitzrovia-based all-day café and food store, The Larder. Now open until 10pm Tuesday to Saturday, the daytime space turns into a relaxed bar allowing guests to take advantage of the excellent selection of wines and craft beers, along with light snacks and simple evening fare.
Interested? Thought so. Better hop to it and get your tickets quick smart – it’s sure to be an unfor-gouda-ble evening.
