Who’s up for hanging out at a member’s club and some gin-tasting? Wait — stupid question, as indeed we all are. Well thank goodness we’re in good care because the Members Club at Urban Coterie, recently launched by Searcys, is to host Chase Distillery for a gin tasting on Thursday 10th March. Furthermore, it’s open to non-members as well: winning.
And who better to host the event other than a regular award-winning company, such as Chase Distillery? With trophies under their belt such as ‘Best Vodka in the World’ at the prestigious San Francisco Spirits Competition and Gold Stars at the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards, we’re pretty sure these guys know their stuff.
Chris Watson from Chase will tell the story behind the brand which creates and hand bottles its own base spirit from a farm in Herford – the first and only distillery in the UK to do so. Guests will be led through a tasting of Chase’s gin and vodka, all made from the potatoes and apples on the farm. Chris will delve into the production methods and unique flavours these spirits yield — albeit this discussion won’t be as humdrum as your university lecture days as you’ll be able to taste them straight up, as well as demonstrations given on how best to utilise these in cocktails.
There’ll also be no getting tipsy off these said concoctions as an array of tasty canapés from the Urban Coterie menu will be served — which is a collaboration between Michelin Starred chef Anthony Demetre and Head Chef Killian Lynch. Expect Pigs Head with ‘ndjua’ Mayonnaise and Potato Doughnuts with Parmesan. We did mention the Michelin starred chef, didn’t we?
Lest we forget about the intimate venue, Urban Coterie. Set on the 16th floor, the sleek and modern setting has views over the heart of London and is tastefully punctuated by colourful leather armchairs and a mirrored bar. Very apropro-members-club-like.
