There’ll be sequins. There’ll be glitter. There’ll be extravagant costumes. And plenty of “wow” remarks overheard. The London Cabaret Club is back on the stage.
After gallivanting across the UK for the past three years in a series of pop-up shows, the London Cabaret Club are settling down (or rising up, rather) into a new permanent residency at the iconic Bloomsbury Ballroom. With a grand launch set to take place on Wednesday 4th May, the LCC are guaranteed to deliver a glamorous and thrilling night of entertainment to unveil their new series of shows that will take place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
No longer is the cabaret scene played out in underground clubs and dingey dives —it has slowly made its way to the mainstream avenue and the bawdy, bold and brassy shows provide fabulous entertainment, with a side of salacious offerings. The LCC has been selling out its shows ever since their inaugural event at the Arts Club in 2013; then proceeding to go from strength to strength with the 3 Day pop-up event at One Mayfair in November 2013, and the 4 week show at The Collection South Kensington. They even sponsored the official Sony Music BRIT Awards after party —a clear sign they know how to throw one.
Pinning down everything that defines cabaret — a cross-breeding of music, comedy, circus, burlesque, variety, live art, theatre, dance and clubbing — their new show will be a spectacle you cannot miss. The LCC will pump up the volume with the theme ‘Best of British Pop’, designed to celebrate British pop throughout the decades. Expect cherished sing-alongs, impressive staging, incredible choreography, and themed costumes as they take you back to the swinging 60s, punk-rocking 80s, glory days of the 90s and today’s top 40.
And it doesn’t stop there. A DJ then takes over, so patrons can take to the dance floor until 3am. It’s not just all song and dance either: there’s quality British Tapas on offer, as well as bespoke drinks and hosts and hostesses welcoming you to truly embody the theme of the night and immerse you in the experience.
What more could you want from a night out? Laughs, amusement, and good cheap thrills are protocol.
