Kansai Kitchen are bringing their cult brand of Japanese Street food to Kingsdown this month with a pop-up restaurant at the Hillgrove.
If you thought sushi was all there was to Japanese food, then think again. Kansai chefs Liam and Tim claim to have tasted every Japanese food under the sun, and now they’re on a mission to educate the tastebuds of their fellow Bristolians.
The Kansai Kitchen menu is a testament to the variety and vibrancy of Japan’s street food scene. Longtime fans can enjoy their usual favourites, such as succulent deep fried Japanese chicken, salmon sashimi and Kansai’s signature okonomiyaki, a must-try yam pancake rich in umami flavour.
New additions to the menu include light and fluffy tamago-yaki, vegetarian Korokke (the Japanese version of croquettes) and a selection of Japanese desserts.
We predict a big year ahead for these boys.
