Producer’s producer, Ninja Tune heavyweight, and all round nice guy, Travis Stewart aka Machinedrum, will be tearing up Electric Brixton this Friday for an unmissable night of dance floor ready beats. He’ll be joined by Brainfeeder artist, Lapalux, and label mate, Dorian Concept.
Firmly putting his stamp on everything from Jamie Lidell to Azealia Banks, Machinedrum has become renowned throughout the underground as a pioneer of many styles – though last year’s iconic full length, Vapor City, propelled him further into the limelight.
Essex-born, Lapalux – once dubbed “the Barry White of electronica” – has been making the rounds in club circuits across the world. Working in a similar vein as Fly’Lo , Bonobo and Andreya Triana, his rich, melodic sound blends everything from miminal house to pop.
Self-taught multi-instrumentalist Dorian Concept will be hitting the decks with tracks from his latest release, Joined Ends, described by his label as “an album that sits somewhere between a floating lucid dream and a deep trip into a synaesthetic wonderland.”
Also on the night, Throwing Snow will be bringing his unique brand of UK funky and bass alongside up-and-coming Dutch producer, Applescal.
