A month long BEER showcase? We’re in!

Can’t get to Munich for Oktoberfest? Don’t fret — we’ve got our own thing going on this side of the Channel, with a Beer Showcase being held across the nation until 15th October. The month-long celebration will play host to a colossal 139 beers that can be sampled across 80 British pubs, offering all you brewin-thusiasts the chance to try an embarrassing amount of great beer, as well as take part in cool events such as master classes, sommelier tastings, giveaways and exclusive celebrity brews.

In collaboration with Nicholson’s Pubs throughout the UK, some of the best breweries will be spilling from taps in a hop-happy showcase of their diverse ranges of autumn beers, cask ales, kegged craft beers and regional specialities.

The showcase isn’t just for beer aficionados  — novices should be welcomely coerced down to their nearest Nicholson’s, where craft beer specialist Brewdog will be hosting several pop-up beer schools. Here you can get the low-down on the brewing process, ingredients involved and the basics of beer and food pairings. It’s vital we all know what cheese to chow down on with an amber ale, right?

And what about a celeb with that cerveza? Rugby Union star Jack Nowell will be hosting a few beer tasting nights at selected pubs in Cornwall (along with a Cornish pasty, of course), with breweries St Austell and Sharp’s. Up in London, music fans will be able to sample the beers of rock royalty Madness, Iron Maiden and New Order, as well as the launch of Tony Hadley’s new IPA on 30th September.

Moreover, Nicholson’s Beer Showcase will have a big social media presence thanks to takeovers from breweries and celebrities with weekly giveaways and great prizes.

So hop to it — fun ends 15th October. No Euros or passports required for this fun-filled month of beer.
