The Pickle Factory is the place to be this Friday 18th March — not for your weekly prescription of gherkins or preserved herrings, but for a serious dose of ace DJs hitting the decks for the first My Own Jupiter label night in the UK.

Headlining at the Pickle Factory for this thrilling showcase will be the enigmatic genius Nicolas Lutz, supported by revered London record heads Andrew James Gustav and Gwenan.

In case you missed the memo, Nicolas Lutz has quite the cult following — the Uruguayan via Berlin DJ emerged from the galaxy about a decade ago and has since become one of the most exciting, impelling and mysterious DJs in the industry. Lutz’ yields quite a unique and powerful charisma on the decks, with soundscapes that are wild and dazzling. Once fused with a rich textured techno, the resulting productions are obscure eccentricities unlike anything you’ll ever experience again… much like a shooting star.

It’s Lutz’s presence that sets him apart even from contemporaries Binh, Laurine and Onur Özer — DJs that along with Lutz, learned their craft at East Berlin institutions Club Der Visionaere and Hoppetosse.

It was in Berlin, together with Nicolas’ wife and artist Edurne, that My Own Jupiter was born. It might only be two releases in, albeit its aesthetic is creating tidal waves in the dance music arena.

And of course when you’ve got such a stunner taking the headline, it’s sufficed to say the coterie joining Lutz will be equally as brilliant: please welcome two of London’s very finest DJs — Andrew James Gustav and Gwenan.

The appearance of Andrew at the Pickle Factory has been hotly anticipated since they opened in October 2015. The DJ and record nerd swings his style in classic tech house and breaks, through to sublime techno, oddball house and stripped-back 2-step. His cohort Gwenan is “technically” a techno DJ, but like Andrew and Nicolas, she shines much brighter with her liking for abstract electronic music in all styles, rhythms and textures.

A night at Pickle Factory you won’t want to miss — pickled onions can wait for your Sunday Tesco trip.
