You have to hand it to the ever unappreciated modder, they get to work fast. Fallout 4 has been out for just under a week and a number of free community modifications for PC have hit the web.
Hundreds of mods can already be found on the Fallout 4 nexus page, including bug fixes, graphical updates and unsurprisingly, a whole lot of nudity.
Here are a few of our top picks so far:
1)Fallout 4 Configuration Tool by Bilago
This mod adds a simple menu that allows you to alter key elements such as field of view, autosave frequency and even disable in game gore effects for the feint of heart. Highly recommended for those looking to fix some nagging issues with the vanilla experience.
2)Remove Power Armour Drain by The Iron Rose
Tired of feverishly hording powercores while your unstoppable mobile armour sits rusting in the corner, well worry no more. This tweak stops the suit from draining power, allowing you to roam at your hearts content, if breaking the games balance a little.
3)All the Perks by Symitri
Speaking of breaking the game, how about a little overkill. This mod allows you to have all perks enabled, turning you into a virtual demigod of the wasteland. Be aware that this particular addition might make the experience somewhat trivial.
4)Enhanced Wasteland Preset by Razed
Fallout 4 isn’t the prettiest game out there, but that can be rectified. With the combination of the popular SweetFX plugin and a little bit of ingenuity, modder Razed has done just that. Adding ambient light, an updated depth of field and a long list of visual tweaks, the wasteland has just become a bit easier on the eyes.
5)Stuttering and Memory patch ENBoost by Boris Vorontsov
If your trek through post Apocalypse Boston is ruined by stuttering and low resolution textures, the fix graciously provided by Boris might be able to help. While not all PC setups will benefit from the changes included, this mod helps to enhance RAM usage for smoother FPS and a nicer looking environment.
So far so good, and all this only within a few days of launch. If Fallout 4 community is as determined as they have been in the past, this is merely the beginning. New weapons, enemies and even quests could well be in the near future.
