We’re all busy people and even the most ardent film and TV fan occasionally misses out on some breaking development or another. As such, here’s a quick rundown of all the relevant news from the past week to replenish your stores for conversation.

  • Ben Affleck’s Gone Girl has received a number of teaser posters.
  • Director Don Hall has reported that upcoming animated film Big Hero 6 will not connect with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  • A new trailer has been released for Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side.
  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves has reported that he may be responsible for Andy Serkis’ new acting gig in Star Wars: Episode VII.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy has a new viral website called Galaxy Getaways and a selection of new posters.
  • Latino Review is claiming that Batman v. Superman may also feature tally-scarred serial killer Victor Zsasz as a secondary villain for the Dark Knight, as well as Senator Amanda Waller as a vocal opponent of the Man of Steel.
  • Jessica Alba appears in a new clip from Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and new photos have been released of both Rosario Dawson and Jamie Chung.
  • Moviefone have published images of upcoming kid-friendly superhero film Max Steel.
  • Guillermo Del Toro has discussed his plans for Pacific Rim 2 and At the Mountains of Madness with The Wall Street Times.
  • The first official image has been released of Batman v. Superman on the USA Today website.
  • Vin Diesel has taken to Facebook to compliment the cast and crew of his latest feature, Guardians on the Galaxy, upon making a great film.
  • The Hangover trilogy’s Ken Jeong has signed on to Kevin Hart-Ice Cube comedy sequel Ride Along.
  • Tina Fey is developing an untitled witch project for Disney.
  • Deadline has confirmed that the next Sherlock episode will take the form of a 2015 Christmas Special.
  • A new trailer has been released for Foxcatcher.
  • A new Denis Leary sitcom called SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL is coming to FX later this month.

  • Smurf writers J. David Stern and David N. Weiss have begun work on Enchanted 2.
